I turned 25 yesterday , I was worried on my 23rd birthday and bit concerned on my 24th and yesterday on my 25th i dint even feel like blogging :) . Is that a sign that I am improving.
Forget it , what ever be the direction in which my personality is growing or my life is headed, yesterday rocked. I was happy the whole day, no fights, no anger, no worries , a bit of lying but thats ok and mostly peace. Boy i loved it.
Thanks for the 100 odd who wished me(yes i was surprised too but i did receive that many wishes thanks to orkut for about 50 of them) For those who dint wish me you still have got the time :)
I got a Shirt, a t-shirt, a navratna ring and a book as my birthday gifts . Well that dint exactly meet the requirements I had set out so i am stilling waiting ;-)

Youtubes downtime notice somehow seemed good to me. Nice work aint it. 
But so was orkuts "No Donut" Notice till it got really annoying , they dint change it in like 2 years and it so god damn frequently shows up that one wonders if orkut is ever going to get a donut what say.

How wonderful it would be if you could create your own search engine? Someplace where you can search the sites that you want to for things that interest you ...... http://www.rollyo.com is an amazing, i repeat amazing web 2.0 that does exactly that for you.
Specify some sites which you want to add to your search engine, give the engine a name, specify a category, a tag(keywords) and thats it you have your own search engine. (The folks at Rollyo call this a 'SearchRoll'.)

I couldn't find a way to expose my search engine to the world. Good feature they are probably missing.

FireFox 1.5 Beta 1 is out(in case u dint know that yet). Have always preferred Firefox over other browsers cos of the great customizations and extensions that it provides.
This new version is quite fast compared to the old ones and the back and forward actions have been optimized to be superfast.I love that..... Unfortunately 54 of my 60 extensions wont work cos they aren't compatible with this version. Anyways it is definitely worth downloading and installing, is sleek, cool and fast.

UrlTrends.com is a site that shows an url's trend in alexa rank, PageRank, Google/Yahoo/MSN backlinks, archive.org archived pages and according to alexa they are growing really fast in popularity. Its been ranked as the 7th top mover.So I decided to visit the site and see what exactly got them moving so fast.
The moment I saw the trend report of a particular url using their site I was so impressed that I created a free account with them. Unlike sites that provide link popularity in one line(or sometimes one word) that dont help webmasters much, these guys show a trend report that is more informative.
They also tell webmasters how much the end user loves their pages by displaying the number of bookmarks for their URL in furl and del.icio.us. Aint that cool.
Well dont have a lot of time to write a detailed review.But can tell you this much, its a cool service and definitely worth a look.

Google Blog: Fill in the blanks
In this Google Blog Hiyan Alshawi, Research Scientist at Google talks about using wildcard characters for search. I was thrilled when I read about this feature in his blog, but was pretty upset when I tried out the same myself. Seems its another beta feature from Google.
To explain my point a search on "Chennai is the * capital of India" returns more details about bangalore than chennai.

Two steps to get a 250 MB Hotmail account
Disclaimer : - I dont see a need for this but anyways I did like to mention it to safeguard my as*. I aint responsible for any loss of account and or mail that you may suffer while trying out the steps mentioned.
I tried OPTION 1 and saw my hotmail account growing in size from a trivial 2MB to a decent 25 MB. The choice is yours to make, don't sue me if things go wrong 
And to make it 250 MB , you will be receiving a mail from Hotmail Staff , where they quote:
You may notice that your storage meter for your e-mail inbox only says 25 MB instead of 250 MB. Please allow us at least 30 days for us to bump up your storage to the complete 250 MB.**** It is important to check your inbox regularly during this time.
OPTION 1
Login to your account
Go to Option
Click My Profile
Change Country to United States
Wait for browser to Load US Settings
Change state to Florida and Zip Code to 33332
Click Update
Click Continue
Go to Language and Make sure it is English
Paste this link in Same Browser :
http://by17fd.bay17.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/AccountClose
Wait until the screen says Your Hotmail account is
closed and ready to be deleted. Click Close Account.
Go Back to Login and relogin to ur Account
Just reactivate ur account.
No email will be deleted from ur account and now ur
Account size limit is increased to 25MB.

You can wait till Hotmail does it for you anyway , in the longrun
