Ayan - Tamil Movie - One minute review!!!

Story - Ok
Direction - Tolerable
Overall - 2/5 - Watchable once
The movie starts alright with good amount of comedy that keeps the audience entertained. But somewhere down the middle one starts to realize that the Editor forgot his task and slept on the job and hence the movie still contains some scenes which should have definitely been removed. Watching the movie becomes a drudgery, post the interval and one needs to 'invest'(more appropriately 'waste') a good amount of energy to sit through the second half of the movie.

Tamanna is good , pretty looking and can act well too. Surya has done his part pretty decently too, The music sucks, actually borders over noise. Choreography is miserable and costumes defeat choreography in being miserable. But in spite of all this the above average story line, some decent acting, well interspersed comedy tracks and a bit of action make the movie worth watching once.

I am finally there!!!

I am finally there - If you are reading this post on 4th April 2009 that should be the message on the count down timer in the right column. The MBA program in ISB is over, 1 year is gone, the graduation begins in another 17-18 hrs and by end of day today it would be curtains.  Reminiscence is something I am not good at , it often leads to gripes, but such an important year cant go un-recollected

My biggest take away: The shift into management and a high paying job.

Although I cant claim to have gotten the biggest or most coveted or highest paying job on campus, In an year that has tortured most of my classmates placement wise, I am happy I got a job thats above average. I have only one explanation for how I managed this - God's grace.

My biggest regret       : Not having made any friends.

I have always struggled at making friends, I am quick to start networking with people and quicker in dropping the network and moving on. I lose interest in people very fast and find it very difficult to listen to a boring competition, put up with something I dont agree, laugh at a non joke, etc perhaps i am autistic but whatever be the reason In my 21 yrs of education and 5 yrs of work experience I have managed to make only 8 friends.

The school has been a good experience for a few, many found their dream jobs, many got what they wanted out of it, many found their future life partners. But I am convinced at least 40% of the batch would agree with me when I say  - something just doesnt add up about the ISB experience, something is lacking. Albeit we cant put our finger on a particular point, that point still exists.

Overall I am happy with the way things went. It  was ok. But if I could go back in time would i choose ISB - definitely not. Why - all i can say is that something was just not right, something was missing, and one day before I leave the school I am still unsure whether its me or the school.

And I am an MBA!!!

The one year long course at ISB is done, finished my last examination for the course some 20 min ago. I dont know why facebook and orkut status messages of my classmates are loaded with sad messages about missing ISB etc I am extremely happy that this is over, I am an MBA :-).

P.S: I finished the exam 20 min before schedule , thats something I have been very consistent about , I have finished all exams at ISB 20-30 min before the schedule. Nothing great abt that just a rant ;-)

Treat Please!!!

One of the many disadvantages of being successful at something is the dozens of Treat Seekers one has to satisfy after the success. While  the dictionary gives several meaning for the word Treat, the ones that best fit my post are as below.

i) Provide with choice or abundant food or drink
ii)Provide with a gift or entertainment

Ever since I got placed at ISB, there are dozens of folks asking me for a treat almost every time they come across me. While as such I fail to understand how throwing an extravagant dinner to some people will help me increase my happiness from the success manifold times, I do participate in treats cos society demands so. But unfortunately ISB (hopefully for only the time being) has left me only with loans and negative account balance (I am not kidding I have an ICICI ATM receipt that reads -11.81). I have been surviving by borrowing from friends around me. That being the case I was somehow not convinced about treating a few people by borrowing from few others. But then the dozens who wanted the treat wouldn't buy the argument.

Hence I worked out a master plan(or at least i thot it was), 60% of the treat will be paid by me and 40% by all the other participants in the treat put together. Of course the plan went kaput, the moment they had to pay all those who only wanted free stuff bailed out. While the cancellation of the planned Treat is not sad , I am surely upset about the fact that the one last gala time I was planning with those folks before leaving hyd wouldnt happen for that exact one reason for which happiness should not be sacrificed - lack of money.

So did I not treat any one at all - of course not I treated just one person but again the Treat exceeded my planned budget by 100% :-( so that left me too scared to plan any further treats. I am depressed and yet again convinced that "Lack of Money is the root cause of most unhappiness".

Cheers,

Now Playing!!!

"GendhaPhool" - from the movie "Delhi 6". Wait for the song to play for at least 1 min(at the 49th second the song becomes more interesting) and u will surely feel like tapping your feet to the rhythm or might be even dancing. A.R.Rahman rocks.

An ode to a loved one!!!

Have fallen in love with her
Years after I first met her
Dearer to me she has now become
Even though to the end of our chapter we have come
Rarely have I missed someone
And a permanent place in my heart very few have won
But she has now etched herself
Alas she has given me so much more than just herself
Dear I am sorry I have to go

Change alone is constant like you already know
Thanks for the friends that you gave me
Thanks for the aspects of life you made me see
I have changed a lot cos of you
I am a better man cos u made into
It sure feels like the end of an era
But dont worry "Merey dil mey sada rahega ek place thera"

How is it ?

Roughly 30min of googling for blog templates and 2hrs of battling with CSS, HTML and Javascript later my Blog wears this new skin. Somehow i am left feeling I have forgotten all that i knew about the coding and designing world. I also feel that blogger makes it really really diff to change templates. Anyways how is my new template?

Cheers,
