Gals, Sponsorship, Dumb Guys etc

I am sure you have come across this not so great looking gal to whom at least 4 different guys have proposed so far. That wonderful babe around the corner who has an exquisite collection of teddy bears, perfumes, pens and watches from different guys.

It amazing how just being a gal and being socially active can be wonderfully beneficial(sorry i had to chose this word for the lack of knowledge of better english -corrections appreciated)

I have never been able to fathom why, why does a pretty babe get so many gifts from so many guys all of whom know that they dont stand a chance at getting married to her. I mean these guys are just "good friends of her" who think its ok to spend Rs.7000 on a swatch watch for " just a friend" for no reason what so ever.

I have never come across scenarios where guys gifted other guys such expensive gifts unless of course they were thick friends and it was someone birthday or anniversary or some such occasion.

Now that makes me wonder if what Harry says in "When Harry met Sally" is true "men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way. ". May be what varies between various relationships between men and women is the degree of impact of this 'sex part' . I can understand when guys and gals are rakhi bros and sis or related in some way , like friends wife, distant cousin etc, now the relationship has a name and the 'sex part' is diffused a bit (degree of diffusion directly proportional to the degree of respect of the relationship)

Again from when Harry met sally -

"Yes, that's right, they can't be friends. Unless both of them are involved with other people, then they can... This is an amendment to the earlier rule. If the two people are in relationships, the pressure of possible involvement is lifted... That doesn't work either, because what happens then is, the person you're involved with can't understand why you need to be friends with the person you're just friends with. Like it means something is missing from the relationship and why do you have to go outside to get it? And when you say "No, no, no it's not true, nothing is missing from the relationship," the person you're involved with then accuses you of being secretly attracted to the person you're just friends with, which you probably are. I mean, come on, who the hell are we kidding, let's face it. Which brings us back to the earlier rule before the amendment, which is men and women can't be friends. "

Now back to my doubt - do gals get all these gifts and proposals cos

i) guys are desperate
ii) the sex part is out there somewhere
iii) she is a gal and any gal always attracts some men thats the rule of nature.

And why why why am i griping about all this , god how i wish i achieved the thoughtless state.

Stag on New year!!!

The problem with being a Stag(Someone who attends a dance party without a female companion) on special occasions such as new years night is that most of these rotten party houses dont allow you inside.

Why do i want to attend the party - to shake a leg have some fun , its new years
Why the pubs are rotten - cos they dont allow stags or stag entry is extremely expensive
Why do i need to go as a stag :

i ) Cos some idiot sometime wrote a rule that gentlemen sponsor for women and if u take a gal you end up paying for her.(I know u think i am cheap but come on 1400 bucks for entry and 600 for drinks and 400 for food for some unknown gal thats insane)

ii) Getting a gal for just one party aint that easy (Unless u pick up one of those escorts standing outside this pub who do this as a service)

iii) I dont drink and i dont want to pay for someone else's drink even if the gal looks pretty. and several other similar reasons.(of course i am not dating anyone and that i am single are understood as reasons)

Why the pubs dont allow stags - cos stags are unruly and difficult to manage , couples and gals are well behaved. Gimme a break ....

Well I can gripe all that i want but no one is listening , so 99.99% i will be spending new years night at my house in hyderabad with my roommates(yes they are losers too).

God I wish a miracle happened and these pubs allowed stags at an affordable entry price.

P.S : HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS, May god bless you with good health , wealth, happiness and prosperity

I need to know why?

Often times I take great pride in being a Hindu Brahmin. I am not sure why i am proud but the truth is I am. But then there are certain aspects of the religion and its rituals that sometimes make me detest it.

Take for instance this case, my grandmother passed away on Dec 1st this year. So we(my family) arent permitted to go to temples with a kodimaram(temple flag) for a year, we cant go to temples on hills for a year, cant undertake any big pooja for a year, have to pay the pandit who performed the last rights close to 50K for apparent dhanams(donations accompanied by a pooja) that he performed.

But I need to know why, why shouldnt i go to a temple. why should we perform the dhanams. The answers given by these pandits make no sense at all. For most of my questions their answer is "well not everything is supposed to be disclosed right".Well that aint a good enough reply. The dhanams are supposed to benefit my grandmom in her after life which sounds so ridiculous to me but whats more ridiculous is the pandits claim that our going to temple is bad for her in her afterlife. Gimme a break, if someone dies and goes to god , whats the best place to meet them god right, so why not go to a temple.

I sometimes so strongly feel that the biggest bane of my religion and perhaps most other religions is that people blindly follow them out of fear or faith and the fact that the religions dont care to answer the questions that start with a "why"

Aaja Nachle - one minute review!!!

The script is really bad , the movie starts with some promise and then turns into a fairy tale. I never liked Madhuri so no complaints, but then but for Ranvir Shorey and Akshaye Khanna none of the other actor's performance in the movie is worth mentioning, not even that of Konkana Sen.

Salim-Sulaiman's music is really good , if u have an ear for good music there is magic at places to watch out for , but that said for a musical the music aint good enough. Cinematography [Mohanan] is splendid. The movie is a bit of a drag but if you have time to kill well you can give the movie a shot.

The Meaning kinda deep but literally here is how it goes:

What does the crazy heart want
my eyes are raining tears
Dont forget the color ..or the two eyes

Dawn is always thick & immovable
whats the stregth of lovers tears
Whats the strength upon ones heart
when heart refuses these earthy desires

the large moon and my heart becomes one as the breeze on its wings blow east.
then the wind blows, like the strings of a broken kite
What does the crazy heart want
my eyes are raining tears

--Badri--

P.S If you think i have missed out your name thats only bcos i think you could have contributed more. :)

P.P.S Its weird how many had to help me for me to get to this place. Just the list i remember crosses 25. Its also weird how things that I thought were stupid, meaningless and a royal waste of time eventually ended up contributing to the diversity in my profile. Like Steve says u cant connect the dots looking forward.

P.P.P.S My thanks to the gods I pray too and my spiritual instructors. ;-)

P.P.P.P.S Today is Thailavar RajniKanth's Bday I was damn sure something good will happen. Thalaivar Rocks.

How bored am I ?

Came home from office, wasnt in a mood to sleep and there was nothing interesting enough to do, so hit the cyber cafe and am now blogging. I could have done the same from office but still left office early. Life is too boring!!!
