Drop error, Go error and ISB interviews!!!

|

hypothesis : every system is flawed what varies is the degree to which it is faulty

proof : my strong belief in the hypothesis

after spending some time evaluating applications and conducting interviews i have been wondering what the ratio of drop and go errors would be in the ISB application evaluation process.

For the uninitiated

Drop error: a mistake made by a company in deciding to abandon a new product idea that, in hindsight, might have been successful if developed

Go error: a failure at any stage (but especially at the screening stage) in the new product development process when a decision is made to proceed with a product which, in hindsight, should have been abandoned.

I have also been wondering if I am an ISB student now only cos of a "Go Error" ;-)

cheers,

Hi Badri,

Read you Drop and Go Error theory.

I wish I come under 'Go error' theory rather than being a genuine talented candidate, but abondoned :-)

I anyways will come to know this 20th,but for to be an ISBian, you need to be optimist and positive also, which I am at the moment.

Last, when find time, please get to read my blog also:
firestillwithin.blogspot.com

you see, prospective ISBians don't let any opportunity go to market their product :-)

Hope to see your comments there

A "Drop Error" occurs when a business errs in deciding to abandon a product idea that, in hindsight, may have been successful if developed. Too many drop errors indicate a conservative approach to product screening;
A "Go Error" occurs when a business fails to identify a poor product idea that has already moved into the development and commercialisation stages. Too many go errors indicate a young, ambitious yet inexperienced approach to product screening.
